Citrus Meyerii x Citrus Sinensis Doppio Sanguinello
ORANGES
Characteristics and uses
CHARACTERISTICS:
The Arcobal Orange is a hybrid between a Meyer Lemon and a Double Blood Orange.
It is a vigorous and prickly plant.
It has an abundant and repeated flowering just like the Meyer Lemon.
The skin of the fruit is streaked from orange to deep red and the flesh is a very attractive dark red when ripe creating a stunning visual effect.
The flavour of the fruit is somewhat reminiscent of orange but not very intense.
The flesh is slightly acidic.
USES:
The most interesting aspect of this variety is certainly the colour of the fruit, which in contrast to the green leaves and the beautiful, repeated blooms make it one of the most interesting citrus fruits in ornamental terms.
The peel is rich in pleasantly fragrant essential oils.
The fruit is perfect for making juices, ice creams, sorbets, and liqueurs.
