CHARACTERISTICS
Kumquat has been around since ancient times.

It has Asian origins and is one of the most cold-resistant citrus varieties.
The Fortunella Margarita variety is the best known of the Kumquat collection.
Its fruits are elongated, oval and acidic and they contain 2 to 8 medium-sized seeds, usually monoembryonic.
They are best eaten uncooked, as the skin has a very sweet and intense flavour, while the pulp has a sour lemon-like taste.
The leaves are small, dark green and shiny, lanceolate in shape with an inner or crenate margin, pointed apex.

The flowers are white, fragrant, small and pure.

USES
A variety of plant with compact growth that tends to be very decorative.
Its uses are varied in the kitchen: for making delicious candied fruit or desserts; for making liqueurs with a very special taste; for making excellent jams; for drinks, fruit salads or as a garnish for cheese or meat dishes.
