CHARACTERISTICS The Giant Kumquat is a variety of citrus fruit that is part of the Kumquat collection.
It has Asian origins and is one of the most cold-resistant citrus varieties. It is a recent variety and therefore little known. As its name suggests, its fruit is round and giant in shape compared to the Oval Kumquat and the Round Kumquat Very little juice and not very acidic, thick and sweet skin, no seeds.
USES The Kumquat has a variety of uses in the kitchen; it is eaten fresh, whole with its skin on. It is also used in the preparation of delicious candied fruits, liqueurs with a very special taste, jams and fruit salads. Extremely decorative plant.
